Activity Report for the Month of July, 2017

7th July:- A workshop was organized by the school authorities in the school Activity Hall. The resource person, Mrs. Roopam Sah, is a teachers’ trainer. She talked about 35 strategies to make the class room teaching interesting. The main focus of the workshop was to train the seminarians to keep even the passive learners involved and active in the classrooms. It was a different and exclusive experience for the teachers. 7th to 9th July

:- Distt. Fencing Championship 2017 was organized by Karnal Fencing Association. Result of the competition was as follows: 1. Nishchay Godara of VII-A got First Position in Sabre (U-14) 2. Yuvam Madaan of IX-A got Third Position in Epee (U-17) 9th July:- A Painting Competition was organized by Shri Hari Hospital, Karnal.AasthaSingla of V-A got First Prize in this competition. 10th July Judo Karate training is being imparted to the students of class VIII. It started from 10 th July and will continue till 10th August. 12th July:- • An Intraclass Hindi Poem Recitation activity was organized for the students of classes III to V. Many students participated in this competition whole heartedly. They were judged by their respective class in-charges. Certificates were given to the winners. • ‘Yellow Day’ was celebrated in the kindergarten section of the school. Students came in yellow attires. They brought tiffins filled with yellow eatables e.g. bananas, custard, mangoes, pine-apple etc. Focusing on the theme, the teachers made them aware of yellow colour with the help of yellow objects. 13th July:- A Spell Bee Competition was organized for the students of classes VI to VIII in the zero period. Certificates were awarded to the winners. 14th July:- ‘Shoe Box House’ – a project was given to the students of class II as a holidays’ home work project. Beautiful houses made of ice-cream sticks using artificial grass and plants having car parking area,lawns and terrace showed the creativity of the students which they presented with the help and guidance of their parents. All this was a feast to eyes. An exhibition of Shoe Box Houses was organized for the parents of classes I and II. The Principal and the Headmistress appreciated the efforts put in by the students and parents. 15th July: A Declamation Competition was organized for the students of classes VI to VIII on the topic ‘Misuse of Modern Gadgets’. Students participated in this competition whole heartedly. They were judged on the basis of content, presentation, expression and confidence. Certificates were given to the winners. 16th& 17th July: Third Summer Roller Skating Championship was held at S.D. Sr. Sec. School, Karnal. Students participated under various categories like Mono Acting, Singing, Painting and Best out of Waste. Result of the competition was as follows: Mono Acting -Shruti of X-C First Position ( Himalaya House) Singing – Kritika of X-A First Position( Himalaya House) Anjali of IX-C Second Position (Himalaya House) Painting -Simar Khaneja X-C First Position (Aravali House) 19th July:- A Mehndi Competition was organized for the students of Class III to V in the Activity Hall. The budding artists expressed their creativity quite beautifully. They were judged by Mr. Anuj and Mrs. Dolly. Certificates were given to the winners. 21st to 23rd July: Open Distt. Badminton Championship was organized from 21st July to 23rd July at Karan Stadium. Different worksheets were given to different classes. The main aim of this activity was to explore the creativity of the students and to offer them a platform to show their skill and creativity. Students enjoyed this activity a lot. 24th July: Science Exhibition was organized in the Mathematics Lab.. Students from classes VI-VIII participated in this. They prepared beautiful charts, models and working models. Students explained the working of the models and satisfied the queries of visiting students very confidently.It was shown to all the students of classes VI to VIII. The key objective of this exhibition was to bring out the hidden talent of the students.The exhibition was appreciated a lot by the Principal and the Headmistress. 26th July:- • Teej was celebrated in the Kindergarten section of the school. Students came in green attires. They brought special tiffins and Ghewar. Teachers explained the importance of Teej to them. 26th July:- • A Drawing and Colouring Competition was organized for the students of classes I and II. Students were asked to draw and colour any picture related to Teej. They drew beautiful pictures showcasing ladies enjoying on swings, hands with henna applied on them etc. Certificates were given to the winners. 27th July:- • An Exchange Programme was organized for the students of Colony School and Panipat School. Thirty students from our school accompanied by two teachers visited Panipat school and celebrated Teej and Rakshabandhan together with the students of Panipat School. They took sweets with them in beautiful handmade boxes. It was a very innovative, interesting and successful programme. • Members of Social Service Club visited Sharadhanand Orphanages. They distributed various stationery items and eatables to the orphans. Rs.1100/- were also donated for the welfare of orphans. It was a soul satisfying experience for the students. This visit would instill in them a sense of responsibility for underprivileged. 28th July:- • English Poem Recitation Competition was organized for the students of classes I and II. Students recited beautiful poems. Some of them used placards and wore dresses according to the theme of the poem. Chocolates were given to all the participants and certificates were given to the winners. • In order to create awareness among the students a Street Play on Drug Abuse was shown to the students of classes VI to X.The play very emphatically presented the side effects of dependency on drugs.It was appreciated a lot. 29th to 30th July:- Block Level School Games (Badminton) were held at Karan Stadium. The result was as follows:- Team (U-14) Boys got First Position Team 1. Chirag- VIII A 2. Raghav – VI C 3. Suryakant – VII C 4. Rudransh – VII C Chirag and Raghav have been selected for Distt. Level. 29th July: • An Inter Dyal Singh Folk Dance Competition was organized at Dyal Singh Public School, Sector-7, Karnal. The competition was divided into two categories i.e. Senior and Junior. Our both the teams (Senior and Junior) got second prize in this competition. Their performances were appreciated a lot. • A Departmental Meeting was held in all departments. Teachers who had attended the workshop on 7th July on’ 35 Teaching Strategies’ in the school ,shared these strategies with rest of the teachers of their respective departments.
